Musician

David Allen works as a professional organist, pianist, musical director and conductor and is currently the resident organist at the church of St Mary Magdalen in Oxford as well as working as a local music tutor in composition, theory, piano and organ.

Frequently travelling throughout the United Kingdom and abroad, David has performed in Oxford, Westminster and Worcester Cathedrals, Edinburgh's Canongate Kirk, at the Edinburgh Fringe, in the Oxford Playhouse and Sheldonian Theatre, as well as in Reims Cathedral, L'Oratoire du Louvre in Paris, Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri in Rome and Chrám Svatého Mikuláše in Prague.

Studying music at the University of Oxford and the Royal College of Music in London, David was tutored on the organ by Geoffrey Watson and John Wellingham and became an Associate of the Royal College of Organists in 2009. David has worked as musical director and pit musician on several high profile professional and amateur musicals and plays in London and the southeast, and in April 2007 he performed as the piano soloist in Tolga Kashif's Queen Symphony in Oxford's New Theatre.

David currently works as an accompanist to choirs in the south of England as well as a pianist and conductor for session orchestras and musicals. He also occasionally appears as a jazz pianist, clarinettist and singer and is frequently called upon as a wedding organist throughout the UK.
