Anne/12th Floor/Virtue - Original Scores
In the past few weeks David has finished scoring three new short films that will be premiered in London in the coming weeks.
Anne, directed by Heikki Simppula, is a black comedy about a lonely pensioner who takes a violent dislike to her nurse and the music mixes a pastiche of Beethoven with a homage to Bernard Herrmann.
Tackling troubling issues of domestic violence, 12th Floor is a short film by Elisa Kujala and utilises a dark, minimalist and somewhat psychological score.
RCM Composition for Screen Showcase 2014
Tomorrow evening David's work will be featured as part of a Composition for Screen Showcase hosted in the Britten Theatre at the Royal College of Music. This showcase is an annual event where selected scores from some of London's up and coming film composers are performed live to an audience of industry professionals and members of the public.
David's work will be represented by an alternative score he composed for Ceci n'est pas une mouche, an animation by Carlos Fraiha.
A Deep Breath - Original Score
'Tis Folly To Be Wise - Original Score
In Flanders Fields - New Commission
David recently began work on a new choral work - a setting of Lt Col John McCrae's famous World War I poem In Flanders Fields. This piece has been commissioned in association with the Sospiri choir and will hopefully be included in their World War I memorial project next year, 'A Multitude of Voices'.
