David is delighted to announce that he has been appointed to the post of organist at St Mary Magdalen in central Oxford. This is a prestigious position indeed, with previous organists having been organ scholars at Christ Church and Keble colleges, and the church famously has one of the best choirs in the city.
St Mary Magdalen features a new Matthew Copley organ which, as the photos on the builder's website demonstrate, is not exactly the most conventional of designs! However, the instrument itself has a beautiful rounded sound, and David is very much looking forward to playing it on a regular basis, even if it is a little smaller than the Christ Church cathedral organ that he's been getting used to!
