Earlier this summer David finished working on three new short films that were premiered in London this week.

Grip (dir. Laura Seward) tells the story of Jess, a blind rock climber, as she learns to master her latest climb, and the music mixes the challenge of the climb with the blissful, dreamy freedom of her success, combining influences of Sigur Ros and Hans Zimmer.

Shy (dir. Emanuele Bonomi) is a short, dark film about a man who is haunted by the ghostly presence of a mysterious woman. Whether or not she is real or in his imagination is ambiguous, but the end result is tragic nonetheless. The score utilises a mixture of ambient sound with a suspense-based orchestral/electroacoustic palette.

Lastly, An Allegory of Love (dir. Kateryna Zabulonska), is a contemporary dance film that uses body-painting to explore the theme of how people can be changed by intimate relationships and how partners can leave indelible impressions long after they have left. The music was written and recorded before the shoot and was composed in the style of the contemporary music ensemble, the Nine Inch Nails.
